Senna (Leguminosae-Caesalpinioideae) in Minas Gerais state, Brazil

Abstract Senna comprises about 350 species worldwide, of which 80 occur in Brazil. This work brings an update taxonomic treatment the state Minas Gerais, second most diverse for genus, through morphological analysis 2,348 specimens from herbaria and fieldwork. Thirty-six 29 varieties were recognized, including 34 native 2 cultivated species. Of 39 reported literature state, but 4 excluded list produced. The occurrence acuruensis was confirmed; S. macranthera var. striata pilifera tubata are new records, hirsuta acuminata is endemic to Gerais.
